South Beloit Police Officer Sawyer Kurth was honored by VFW Post 11019 as its Post-level Law Enforcement Officer of the Year during the August 17 meeting of the South Beloit City Council.

SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — South Beloit Police Officer Sawyer Kurth was recognized by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11019 as its Post-level Law Enforcement Officer of the Year during the South Beloit City Council’s regular meeting on Monday, August 17.

Rob McLain, Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 11019, presented Kurth with a VFW Certificate of Appreciation recognizing his commitment to the highest ideals of law enforcement and his dedication to maintaining, preserving and protecting the lawful rights of all citizens.

Kurth was nominated for the award by South Beloit Police Chief Adam Truman, who submitted the nomination to VFW Post 11019 in recognition of the officer’s outstanding service and accomplishments.

Post 11019 thanked Truman for taking the time to recognize Kurth and for supporting the VFW’s Public Servant Award Program, which honors law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel who demonstrate exceptional service to their communities.

The Post plans to advance Kurth’s nomination for consideration at the VFW District, Department of Illinois and national levels.
