VFW Post 11019 Begins Effort to Form Auxiliary in South Beloit

SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — VFW Post 11019 has officially begun the process of forming a VFW Auxiliary following a unanimous vote by Post members to support the effort.

The Post is now seeking eligible family members of qualifying veterans who are interested in becoming charter members and helping establish the new organization.

“We believe an Auxiliary will strengthen our Post and expand our ability to serve veterans, military families, youth and the South Beloit community,” said Rob McLain, Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 11019.

Eligibility may be based on a qualifying veteran who is a spouse, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild or sibling. Certain step- and adopted family relationships within these categories may also qualify. The qualifying veteran may be living or deceased, and eligibility will be verified during the application process.

The proposed Auxiliary has not yet been chartered. At least 15 eligible applicants are needed before an application for a charter can be submitted.

Those who become charter members will have an opportunity to help establish the Auxiliary, shape its direction and build a lasting organization committed to supporting veterans and their families.

Anyone interested in joining or learning more about eligibility is encouraged to send VFW Post 11019 a private message.

Community members are also asked to share the announcement to help spread the word throughout South Beloit and the surrounding area.
