UmbraMoon: Rockton’s New Home for Curiosity, Community, and Holistic Connection
At its core, UmbraMoon boutique + body bar is about belonging.
In the heart of Rockton, UmbraMoon boutique + body bar was created by Owner and Licensed Massage Therapist Jami Thompson. In short order it's becoming one of the community’s most inviting new gathering spaces. Thompson has shaped UmbraMoon boutique + body bar into more than a holistic boutique — it’s a warm, evolving hub where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and visitors can explore wellness at their own pace.
Thompson describes the shop as “a little bit of everything,” a place that shifts and grows as new ideas and holistic practices catch her attention. “Various products and services change all the time—there are staples, but it’s never the same thing month after month,” she said. “If there’s something new in holistic health, I want to learn about it, bring it here, and see what everyone thinks.” That openness is central to UmbraMoon boutique + body bar's identity. Body Butters, looseleaf teas, magnesium products, metaphysical tools, and wellness items fill the shelves, but Thompson emphasizes that the space is intentionally pressure‑free. “You can come in with no expectations,” she said. “Just walk around, ask questions, learn something new.”
Recently, a visitor told her she found UmbraMoon boutique + body bar simply by Googling “metaphysical shops,” and the boutique appeared first. “That meant the world to me,” Thompson said. “I want this to be a place people feel drawn to.”
Creative Classes, Friendly Spaces, and Community Connection
Thompson is building a calendar of activities designed to bring people together not through formal instruction, but through shared creativity.
Japanese‑style flower arranging, candy‑bracelet crafting, creative writing circles each class is structured so participants learn from one another. “I want people to come in and learn things from each other,” Thompson said. “If someone doesn’t know how to do something, someone else will say, "Let me help you."

Holistic Healing and Energy Work
UmbraMoon boutique + body bar is also expanding its wellness offerings. Reiki masters will begin hosting regular Reiki circles and also individual gentle, non‑touch energy healing that supports mental and physical well‑being. Sound bowl circles, meditation groups, yoga, and mindful breathing sessions are also on the schedule.
“People take breathing for granted,” Thompson said. “But mindful breathing can change your stress levels.”
Thompson will also offer Mas-oga classes, her signature blend of yoga positions and light massage. “I call it lazy‑girl yoga,” she said with a laugh. “You sit or lay down, and I move your arms and legs, stretch you, and give a light pressure massage throughout.” There will be a schedule of events on UmbraMoon’s Facebook page. Message the page to ask questions or get booked into one or more of their classes.
Tarot readings are available as well, with both guest readers and an in‑house- practitioner by appointments. Call or TEXT 815-997-7112 OR 779-238-8818 or message our Facebook Page to schedule appointments.
A Space for the Spiritually Curious
Thompson embraces the region’s growing interest in spiritual and paranormal exploration. This fall, UmbraMoon 𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚚𝚞𝚎 + 𝚋𝚘𝚍𝚢 𝚋𝚊𝚛 will welcome well‑known Chicago‑area psychic medium Annie Hex as part of a fall celebration.
Her own intuitive experiences shape the empathy she brings to the space. “I’m an empath, a little intuitive,” she said. “This place — being near the river — has a lot of energy. People feel that when they walk in.
At its core, UmbraMoon boutique + body bar is about belonging.
“I want people to feel welcome — kids, adults, anyone,” Thompson said. “Come in, explore, learn something new, or just sit and exist. This space is for you.”
