Two new police officers join the ranks of Village of Roscoe Police Department

After field training, Alida Smith and Rudolpho (Rudy) Gonzalez will officially join the Village of Roscoe Police Department.

Roscoe Police Department will be adding two new officers. Alidia Smith and Rudolpho (Rudy) Gonzalez recently completed four weeks of training at the Illinois Police Academy. Two new Village of Roscoe Police Department candidates, Alida Smith and Rudolpho (Rudy) Gonzalez, were sworn in at the Jan. 6, 2026, Village meeting.

Smith is from the St. Louis area and is a graduate of Western Illinois University, majoring in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. She enjoys living in the Roscoe community and is very community- oriented.

Gonzales and his wife, Alexis Giuffre, previously lived in the Des Plaines, Illinois, area. He and his family now make their home in Roscoe. They are parents of three children. Riley, Olivia, and Alex.

Gonzalez and Smith recently returned from a 14 -week training program at the Police Academy in Springfield, Illinois. They have begun field training on the day and night shifts in the village. Once field training is completed, they will officially join 17 officers in the Village of Roscoe Police Department.
