Thanksgiving meal giveaway
"I just wanted to give back," says Matt at Pietro's. Meals were available on Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
Matt at Pietro's Pizzeria had wanted to host a Thanksgiving meal donation for the past few years. He figured this would be a good year to start, due to the recent government shutdown.
If you arrive on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 at Pietro's at 5724 Elevator Road in Roscoe IL, you will be greeted with a sign at the front highlighting the Thanksgiving meal giveaway outback. People can drive around the building and will find a van full of pumpkin pies and four trucks full of turkeys, stuffing, whipped cream, and cranberry sauce. Each visitor will receive one of each. There are enough for 250 meals (the team initially wanted to donate 1,000 turkeys). Matt and his team will be out there, braving the chill, until meals run out.
