Sue Miller's life was filled with love and generosity
A celebration of her life is planned for early June, with all her favorite foods.
Sue Ann Miller of Rockton, IL was born on April 9, 1945, in Traverse City, MI. Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sue graduated from Catholic Central High School in Alpena, MI, in 1963 and was united in marriage with John Harvey Miller on February 1, 1964. They spent 60 wonderful years together.
Together they raised their beloved children: Mary Baumgartner (Tim), Jake H. Miller (Erin), and Brandi Viel (John). She cherished her grandchildren: Grahm Rademaker (Courtney), Grayce Rademaker (Seth), Will Miller (Courtney), Ben Miller, Mariel Miller, Mia Slawkowski, Lanie Slawkowski, Jack Miller, Joshua Viel, Lydia Viel, and Elijah Viel, as well as her great-grandchildren Dexter, Aryia, and Esmea.
Sue peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on March 3, 2024.
She leaves behind many friends and family, all who loved and will miss her. Sue Ann's life was filled with love and generosity. She found joy in sewing blankets for her loved ones, tending to her garden, and baking delicious treats. Her home was always open, and she welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness.
Sue Ann will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She didn't want a traditional funeral or visitation; instead, she wished for a celebration of her wonderful life to be held in warm weather with all her favorite foods being served. We will plan this sometime in early June.
She is preceded in death by her mother Mary (Walter) Moldenhauer, father Raymond Moldenhauer, stepmother Marie (Yuchasz) Moldenhauer, sister Karen Spencer, and brother Kenny Yuchasz. Her family says, "Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace. We know she is dancing in heaven with all who have gone before her."
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Northern Illinois Hospice Foundation or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
