Strong spirits: what are you seeking?

Seek God first and you get everything else besides.

Strong spirits: what are you seeking?

What are you seeking?  What has your full attention?  What do you most want or need?
We are all looking for something.  We are all seeking.  Whether it is a new job, a new home, a better relationship, or a fresh start, we are all seeking.  The question is, are we seeking God?

The wise men did.  From far away, caught by something they saw in the night skies, they traveled ever so long and ever so far to find the source of the wonder they pursued.  And they were not disappointed.  And you won't be either, if you make God the focus of your deepest seeking and longing.

"You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your heart."  God to us through the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 29:13)

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be yours as well."  Jesus to his followers Matthew 6:33)

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."  Jesus again (Matthew 7:7)

Seek God first, says Jesus, and you get everything else besides.  Seek other things first, and you get frustrated.  The wise still seek him.  It takes time, diligence, patience, faith, hard work.  But it is so worth it!

What are you seeking for?
