Strong spirits: trust

An important consideration for our day-to-day lives, as well as for our forever lives is this:  who do you trust?

Whether we know it or not, we put our trust in all kinds of people every day- people we know and love, and people we don't know at all.  We trust that the food we are eating is safe.  We trust that the car we are driving is sound. Each day requires trust on our part.

Ultimately, the very best place to put our trust is in God himself.

  • "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.  In all of your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."  (Proverbs 3:5,6)
  • "Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will act." (Psalm 37:4,5)

Every institution, every authority, every person - even those we love the most - will likely, at some time, let us down.  God won't.  It might seem like he has, but he never will.  And so, the wisest thing we can do is put our trust in him. Every day.  Starting now.
