It's something almost all of us do, even unknowingly.  Yet it is something that most of us would say we are poor at or know little about.  I'm talking about prayer.

Prayer is essentially talking and listening to God.  Is it important?

"The church is looking for better methods.  God is looking for better people... people of prayer."  E. M. Bounds

"Pray without ceasing"  Paul the apostle  (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests."  Paul again  (Ephesians 6:18)

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Jesus to his followers (Matthew 21:22)

Whether our personal, professional, or ministry life, prayer is the essential ingredient to ensure God's direction, blessing, and provision.  Make prayer the central activity of your life.  How?  Start by talking and listening to God.
