Strong spirits: ask your questions

How are you with questions?  In particular, your questions about the Christian faith.

I think some people are afraid of questions, or at least afraid to ask them, thinking that to ask questions reveals doubt, or that God will be angry with them for asking.  I disagree.

Don't be afraid of questions.  Ask them! Wrestle with them!  Demand answers. Or accept it if there is no answer available but keep inquiring.  Jesus asked lots of questions.  And he invites us to do the same.  In one famous passage, he said, "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks will receive, and everyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock." (Matthew 7:7,8).  While that is usually applied to things we need, I believe it also applies to our need for spiritual clarity.  It's an invitation to spiritual discovery!

Ask your questions of God!  Then listen well for his answers, and be ready to do what he says.
