There are a lot of things that we very much need, but often don't think about until we notice their absence.  One such thing is peace.

The culture we live in creates anxiety for all of us at some level.  Usually, it is low grade and we just go on about our business.  But stress and struggle can multiply that anxiety until it is big problem, until it is an obstacle to a good life.  Then what do we do?

There are lots of solutions- some good, some not good.  Let me cut to the chase and tell you what I think is the best solution...

"Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers, ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart.  And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus."   the apostle Paul  (Philippians 4:6,7)

"Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you.  Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid."  Jesus to his followers (John 14:27)

Paul's advice is sound.  Take everything that upsets you to God in prayer, and LET IT GO.  Not easy, I know.  That's where the thanks comes in.  "Thanks" is a way to say to God "I trust you." Jesus makes it clear- his desire is that we be filled with his peace.  The best way for that to happen is to be filled with him!

Don't go another day filled with anxiety.  Give it to God.  Let him fill you with his peace.
