Strong spirits: now and then
We can only see in part and understand in part.
Ever wonder what heaven looks like? What God looks like? What is going on in the unseen world in the midst of all that is going on in the world we see?
Paul assures us that, while on earth we can only see in part and understand in part, a day will come when we pass from this world into the next, and then we will see clearly and understand fully. "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." (1 Corinthians 13:12).
That is great news! And maybe a little unsettling. I mean, really? God knows me fully? He does. And you too! And yet, loves us completely! What great good news! We can rest in that love, and know that despite all our questions and concerns, God who is love is fully in charge of our world, though it may not seem so at times. Trust in him, not your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). He is and has all we need.
