Strong spirits: joy today
As I walked alone through a cemetery one Easter morning, here's what I thought.
So much has been written about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. As I walked alone through a cemetery one Easter morning, thinking about all that, I thought, "Every one of these folks knows absolutely what we can now only know in part!" What do they know?
How amazing it must have been for Jesus' friends, devastated by his brutal death, to find him again in their midst, fully alive! Can you imagine it? One moment you are overcome by grief and fear and despair, and the next you are overcome with joy unspeakable!
That joy can be ours as well. No matter what the darkness is in our life, the risen Jesus lives to lift us out of it and fill us to overflowing with the life that is overflowing in him. Because he IS love, and he IS life!
Let him fill you! Invite him in! It was for this very reason he came, lived, died and was raised! Don't live another day without his joy! Circumstances mean nothing when we live in him!
