Strong spirits: everyday, ordinary moments!
Even the very ordinary moments of our days have potential for great good.
Most of my days are pretty ordinary. I do a lot of the same things every day. It's the way life is. There are occasional high points, but not that many really.
What I am beginning to learn, or perhaps to remember, is that even the very ordinary moments of our days have potential for great good. Even "bad" moments can be redeemed for good if I will let them be. Jesus said that even giving a person a cup of water can be an act of greatness (Mark 9:41). Consider:
"Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ." Paul the apostle (Colossians 3:17)
" So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Paul again (1 Corinthians 10:31)
I want to live every moment to please Jesus, to let the ordinary moments, no less than the extraordinary ones find me living joyfully for him. I can choose to use my moments to bless others, and when I do, I find I am blessed as well.
How are you using your everyday, ordinary moments?
