Do new things excite you, or would you rather just keep things as they are?
How are you with surprises? Do they thrill you or make you want to run and hide? How are you with new things? Do they excite you, or would you rather just keep things as they are?
I'm asking because we have just started a new year. Even though it is just a day on the calendar, it's a reminder that time moves on and things will certainly change. But I have good news for you, whichever way you feel about surprises and the new...
If you're not a fan of the new, there's this: "For I know that plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)
If the old has got you down and you can't wait for something new, there's this: "If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation- the old is gone! The new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Either way, God is for you! Why not start your year putting your life in his loving hands?
