Steven Bryon Hatch, 65, of South Beloit, IL, was a lifelong mechanic, working for Finley's, Goodall's, and the City of South Beloit. Steve was a member and groundskeeper of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a member of the South Beloit Businessman's Association, South Beloit Lion's Club, and a 3rd Degree Member of St. Peters Knights of Columbus Council #8021.

He passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2023 at the UW Hospital, Madison.

Steve  was born on January 30, 1958, the son of Jeff and Joyce (Krause) Hatch. Steve was a 1977 South Beloit High School graduate. He married Joan Althoff on August 22, 1981 in St. Peter Catholic Church.

Steve was a loving husband, father, and the best grandpa ever, who was always there for his family. He was also known as “best oil change grandpa” and “Mr. Fix It.” Steve was a hard worker, honest, passionate, trustworthy, and the life of the party. He was always willing to help and do anything for anyone. Steve enjoyed playing sports and was very competitive, no matter the sport or activity.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Hatch; children, Justin Hatch, Casey Hatch, and Jordan (Troy) Zellman; grandchildren, Charlie, Oliver, and Lily; brothers and sisters, Greg Hatch, Pat (Lori) Hatch, Jeff (Kimberly) Hatch III, Tracy (Don) Hill, Tammy Dunkel, and Tina Hatch; mother-in-law, June Althoff; several nieces and nephews.

Steve was predeceased by his parents and by his in-laws, John and Gloria Althoff.

A service of remembrance for Steve will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023 followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at  St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit, IL. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. followed by a Visitation of Remembrance until 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2023 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the UW Transplant Clinic or  St. Peter Catholic Church.
