South Beloit names Josh Redieske new head football coach
Josh Redieske takes over football head coaching duties at South Beloit Senior High School.
The winds of change took place recently as it was announced that Josh Redieske will be the next head football coach at South Beloit High School.
Josh comes with a wealth of history in the South Beloit football program, as well as tons of energy and excitement for the South Beloit football program moving forward. Coach Redieske has been around most of these players since they were young, having coached in the youth levels of the South Beloit program.
“This job has been my dream job for quite a while,” said Josh Redieske. He doesn’t see the job as one that is a stepping stone to another job; he sees it as his “FINAL JOB.” He and his staff of five assistants have already been in the weight room and working with the kids as much as possible since he was named head coach earlier this week.
Coach Redieske isn’t a teacher, and he believes that will be an advantage as compared to a negative. Since he owns Lolligags Salon in Beloit, Wisconsin, he believes the flexibility of meeting with kids more often since he isn’t a teacher will help to energize the student-athletes.
Coach Josh Redieske spoke about the many men who have impacted him along his coaching journey so far. He spoke most highly of his dad. Josh spoke of how excited his dad was when he told him he got the South Beloit head coaching job. He mentioned that his father has been by his side for the entire coaching run. Two of the other great many football mentors Coach Redieske spoke about were former coach Fred Paysen and coach Andy Trice who has a long history of football in the Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit communities. Coach Paysen was a freshman coach for Josh while he attended South Beloit in the 1990s. He credits Coach Paysen with his practice plans, breakdowns, and how he treats players.
Expect a new look for South Beloit on offense and defense with Josh Redieske as head coach. The opposing teams and the South Beloit SOBO community should expect a competitive, serious, class-act football program every game day.
