Aidyn Hansen (2013-2023)

After reports of a shooting just south of Shirland Road shortly before 8 p.m., Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies and Rockton Fire found a wounded 10 year-old boy in the 200 block of Townline Ave, South Beloit, Illinois. He had no pulse and was pronounced dead at a local hospital after 8:40 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023. A required autopsy by the Winnebago County Coroner's Office confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound.

The Winnebago County States Attorney Office charged a 30 year old South Beloit man, Jose Manuel Sandoval-Tenorio, with child endangerment. Deputies also allege that he had no Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) card for the weapon.

Detectives from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department are conducting a follow up investigation. Though it has a South Beloit mailing address, Northgate Estates is in unincorporated Winnebago County, in Rockton Township.
