South Beloit City Council to meet Monday

Annexation, equipment purchases, and a deputy clerk hire are among the items on Monday’s South Beloit City Council agenda.

The South Beloit City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16 at City Hall, 519 Blackhawk Blvd.

Among the items up for consideration is an annexation ordinance for South Bluff, along with updates to the city’s raffle regulations and a proposal to declare certain property surplus for sale.

Council members will also review a request from Robert Muller seeking a waiver of penalty fees for property at 616 Fairview.

Two equipment purchases are on the agenda: a GR2120-2-54 series riding mower with a snowblower attachment for an amount not to exceed $15,077.44, and a rotary broom attachment not to exceed $8,775.

The council is also expected to consider a grant agreement with the State of Illinois related to law enforcement. The agenda references grant funding and related training for the purchase or lease of cameras for police use.

Additional items include reappointing a member to the SMTD board and hiring Megan Reff as deputy clerk at $31.25 per hour, effective March 16.

The meeting will also include routine business such as public comment, approval of minutes from the Feb. 2 meeting and approval of claims from Jan. 31 through Feb. 13.

An executive session is listed to discuss personnel matters as allowed under state law.
