SOUTH BELOIT, IL — If you’ve been anywhere near a gymnasium in South Beloit this fall, you’ve likely heard the thunderous echoes of victory. The Lady SOBOs volleyball squad, under the sharp-eyed leadership of Head Coach Cole Nelson, has carved out a season that’s nothing short of sensational. With a commanding 22-5 overall record and a pristine 8-0 mark in Northeastern Conference play, South Beloit has not only clinched the conference title—they’ve done it with style, grit, and a whole lot of senior swagger.

Led by a battle-tested group of seven seniors, this team has become a model of consistency and composure. Over their current six-match winning streak, they’ve dropped just a single game, showcasing not only dominance but discipline. Whether it’s a perfectly timed block at the net or a diving save that turns into a rally, the Lady SOBOs are playing with the kind of chemistry that only comes from years of shared sweat and sacrifice.

With only three regular season matches remaining, the Lady SOBOs are eyeing a deep postseason run. But before the bracket battles begin, there’s one more chance for fans to pack the gym and salute this remarkable squad. The final home game of the regular season is set for Wednesday, October 22nd at 7 p.m. against North Boone—a fitting sendoff for the seniors who’ve helped build a winning culture in South Beloit.

So bring your signs, wear your red and black, and get ready to cheer. Because this isn’t just volleyball—it’s a celebration of teamwork, tenacity, and the kind of season that small-town sports legends are made of.

Congrats Coach Nelson and the entire SOBOs volleyball program!
