Rotary Ribfest returns July 25 with community competition, scholarship support

The Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Ribfest fires up again on July 25, bringing local fire departments, community members, and plenty of ribs together for a midday fundraiser in South Beloit.

The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Viking Lanes parking lot on Saturday July 25, with plates priced at $15, including ribs and sides. Attendees can sample entries and cast a vote for their favorite department’s ribs, adding a friendly competitive edge to the afternoon.

Proceeds benefit the Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Scholarship Fund, supporting local students. Photos from past Ribfests show firefighters at the grill, community volunteers serving plates, and the Rotary team rallying behind the cause—capturing the event’s mix of service, tradition, and small-town camaraderie.
