Rose Cassioppi commits to wrestle at Iowa

Cassioppi continues a family tradition with Iowa, like her brother Tony.

Another Cassioppi family member is heading to wrestle for Iowa. With her older brother Tony finishing up his final campaign at Iowa last weekend at the NCAA wrestling championships in Tulsa, OK, Rose Cassioppi has decided to take her wrestling career to the mats in Iowa City, IA. Rose will be wrestling for the freestyle team at the University of Iowa and is part of the seven-member 2023 Iowa women’s wrestling recruiting class.

Currently, Rose is wrestling for the Elite Accelerator Wrestling Program at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Cassioppi is ranked #7 in the country at 164 pounds by USA Wrestling and scheduled to compete at the U20 US Open on April 27-29 in Las Vegas, NV.

Rose won the 2022 IHSA state championship while at Hononegah. She also had a huge February 2023, she went 4-1 and took third at 170 pounds at the Grand View Open.
