Roscoe street improvements begin in downtown and Sagewood neighborhoods
The work should be completed by Sept. 8, 2023.
The Village of Roscoe has begun its 2023 Residential Streets Program, which will involve temporary, minor travel disruptions - but also better streets. The work should be completed by Sept. 8, 2023, done in phases over 7-9 weeks, depending on weather.
Depending on the street, the contractor, Rock Roads Companies, will be doing pavement removal, full-depth reclamation of existing pavement, new hot-mix asphalt, aggregate shoulder work, and other related repairs. Their exact bid was $1,744,456 and 27 cents and was accepted at the Village's June 6 meeting.
Downtown Project
- Chestnut, Broad, and Harrison Streets from Main Street to 6th Street
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th Streets from Chestnut Street to Harrison Street
Sagewood Subdivision

In a July 12 letter to affected residents, Brandon Boggs, the Village Engineer, said at least one lane will be kept open at all times, with flaggers. "The contract states that reasonable access to all properties must be maintained at all times." But between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. residents in the construction area will not be allowed to park on the street, so the contractor can "work more quickly and efficiently throughout the duration of the project."
Residents may contact Brandon Boggs, the Village Engineer, with any questions or concerns via email at vorengineer@villageofroscoe.com or at (815) 877-0746.
Boggs says, "As always, thank you for your support and patience on what is a much needed and great improvement to Roscoe's roadways."
The 2024 street projects, planned for the Promontory Ridge area, can start as soon as the 2023 projects are completed. They include Promontory Trail, Big Stone Circle, Winding Way, Timber Ridge Road, and Red Rose Trail.
