Death notices for the far Stateline: Jan. 5, 2026
We remember those who are no longer with us in Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit.
  • During tonight's Committee of the Whole Meeting, Roscoe trustees will consider a blasting application to construct sewers for the multi-family units of Hawks Pointe Plat 6. Currently, blasting within 1,000 feet of a building is not allowed. Several residences are less than 500 feet away, but the contractor says they calculate no damage beyond 165 feet. The nearest residence is 75 feet away but the contractor promises to take extra precautions. If trustees decide to approve the plan in the coming weeks, they are likely to set restrictions and hold a public information meeting for nearby residents.
