Rock snakes, pool memberships, scattered showers

Time once again to build rock snakes in Rockton and Roscoe.

The Roscoe Gardening Club is close to launching its annual Rockton/Roscoe rock snake competition. The program runs from June 1 - September 1, 2025. The club says, "'Rocky' the rock snake is once again calling Talcott Library its nest while 'Roscoe' the rock snake has claimed the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Station #1 as its new den." Last year, Rockton came out on top with 378 painted rocks to Roscoe's 321 painted rocks. Participants should direct any questions to roscoegardeningclub@gmail.com.
The Ledges Pool Association is still taking applications for membership. Prices are $550 family, $450 couple, and $350 single. The pool is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
