- While some leaders in Winnebago County are calling for more power to be restored to County Chairman Joseph Chiarelli, mayors of Rockton, Roscoe and South Beloit say they don't have an opinion. Rockton Mayor John Peterson told us last week, "I think highly of Chairman Chiarelli and feel he has done a good job leading our county. I am hopeful the board and chairman are focused on making our county better and not on politics. There is enough of that in Springfield and Washington."
