On the agenda for tonight's South Beloit City Council meeting: amending an ordinance on dogs and cats, an island structure for electric vehicle charging at 16049 Willowbrook Road, re-zoning various properties from RM multi-family residential zoning to R2A two-family residential, masonry repairs at 624 Eastern Avenue and 225 Perry Avenue, and the relocation of fencing at 624 Eastern Avenue.
Sgt. Christopher Wilder is retiring from the Roscoe Police Department after 20 years. He will be honored at Tuesday's Village of Roscoe meeting. At the Committee of the Whole Meeting afterwards, trustees will discuss requiring tall grass and weeds to be less than 8 inches instead of a foot. Also: clarifying the requirement for a liquor license holder to maintain order within their establishment.
In a related note, tickets go on sale today for Louiepalooza in the Louie's parking lot, on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025 with bands Shuffle This, McKenna Faith Winters, That '70s Band Chicagoland, and Nauti-Nauti. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Village of Roscoe Police Department, who investigated a similar event at Bennie's in 2023.
In Rockton's board meeting, trustees are expected to approve the Knights of Columbus “Tootsie Roll Drive”on Friday, September 12 and a special events application for “Summerpalooza” to be held on June 7, July 12, and August 9 in Downtown Rockton.
