Happy Labor Day-Labor Day is much more than the unofficial end of summer.

In the late 19th century, the United States was rapidly industrializing. Millions of people worked in factories, construction, mines, railroads, shops and other industries. 

Labor leaders wanted a day specifically dedicated to recognizing the American worker and demonstrating the strength and unity of organized labor.
