Wicked Sweets by Kate is better known for its cupcakes, but owner Katelyn Sauberlich walked away with the title of best loved hot cocoa in the 2025 Rockton Christmas Walk’s Hot Cocoa Crawl. She says she might have a pitcher left.

  • The monthly waste management bill in the Village of Roscoe will increase to $28 per month as of January 1, 2026. This annual rate adjustment, based on the Consumer Price Index, is part of a five-year contract between the Village of Roscoe and Waste Management, so they can’t change it.   • Authorities at the Massac County, IL Jail told me that Kordell McAdory had been sent to Rock County on Wednesday in a prisoner transfer after the completion of his prison sentence on Dec. 5. The 28-year-old is now serving six months of Mandatory Supervised Release (MSR). In February 2025 McAdory had been arrested near the Dollar General on Bluestem Road in Roscoe for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. He previously served time in prison for Reckless Endangerment, which is a felony in Wisconsin, and for Obstructing an Officer.
