- Willowbrook Middle School celebrated Shakespeare Day last week with actor David Daniel. Besides hearing the spoken words of the bard, students could dress up in Elizabethan garb.
- The South Beloit Scholastic Bowl team competes in regional competition today in Elmhurst, Illinois.
- Neighbors keep wondering what they can do to help locate Gil Wierschke, who has been missing since August. At the time, a plane flew over the whole area using thermal imaging capable of detecting a human body anywhere on land, but found nothing. Beloit private investigator Shawn Markley recently told us, "I think the police are always the best bet" and believes they may be more successful this spring.
