Rockton River Market: Nauti-Nauti
Wed Aug 16 6:00 pm, Settlers Park 150 W. Hawick St. Rockton IL, 61072
The musical artist of the week at Rockton River Market is Nauti-Nauti. Boasting a four-decade résumé in local music, they're setting sail for the cool, crystal-blue ocean waters of the 1970s and the pre-MTV 1980s.
The Rockton River Market takes place every Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. during the summer at Settlers Park, approximately 150 E. Hawick Street in Rockton. Music starts at 6:00 p.m.
Remember when the Doobie Brothers told you to listen to the music? Or when Christopher Cross promised to ride like the wind? Or when Hall and Oates begged you to look into their private eyes? Or when Billy Joel declared that it’s still rock ’n’ roll to him?
The members of NAUTI-NAUTI do!
Veterans of local bands that include Robin Banks, Men of Our Times, Mr. Big Stuff, Love & Thunder, Little Vito and the Torpedoes, sometimes i…, the Edge, Fresh Hot Fritters, the Mayvilles, Prime Time, Soul 2 Soul, ThunderHeart, the CarTunes and so many more, NAUTI-NAUTI is putting the “Yacht Rock” in “Rock”ton.
We are breathing new life into some of the sweetest rock and pop tunes of the period – slickly produced, harmony-laden and instantly recognizable “earworms” that will transport any audience back to happier times of endless summers, 8-track players and transistor radios.
Our song list includes “Lido Shuffle,” “Baker Street,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Thunder Island,” “Brandy,” “Dancing in the Moonlight,” “Hey Nineteen,” “You Can Do Magic,” “Smoke from A Distant Fire,” “Love Will Find A Way” and plenty more, along with dance-floor fillers and singalongs from Grand Funk Railroad, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, the Greg Kihn Band and others who defined a look, a sound and an era.
