A 17 year old boy from Rockton, Noah Myers, died early Saturday morning, driving alone on the 5000 block of Yale Bridge Road, near the T-intersection with Clover Road, west of Williams Tree Farm. No other vehicles were involved.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday afternoon, September 30, 2023, from 1 - 4 p.m. at Hononegah Forest Preserve.

The Winnebago County Coroner's Office says, "The vehicle left the road, crashed, and then caught fire" about 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023.  First responders were on the scene by 2:00 a.m. Rockton firefighters extinguished the blaze but say the vehicle was already "fully engulfed in flames" and it was too late to save the driver inside. They summoned the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office at 2:37 a.m., who arrived at 3:42 a.m., and pronounced the driver dead. UPDATE: Noah was reportedly killed on impact.

Winnebago County Coroner’s Office personnel performed an autopsy on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, but they are still investigating and have not release a preliminary cause of death. Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this crash.
