After a few routine items and the usual opportunity for public comment, Tuesday's Kinnikinnick Board of Education meeting will begin with a Quiz Bowl Match between the Board of Education and the Roscoe Middle School Quiz Bowl Team.

Me, I admire the courage of both teams. It's not the first time they've done this  And even if the adults lose to the middle schoolers, it would show they've provided them a good education, right?

The match will be held in the Kinnikinnick School Library soon after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. You may want to arrive promptly to make sure you get a good seat.

Next, the board is expected to approve minutes of previous meetings, monthly bills, payroll ($760,182.14 in February), and financial reports.

One of the requirements for school board members is to fill out a Winnebago County Clerk Statement of Economic Interest. These annual statements seek to avoid conflicts of interest by reporting the companies and clients that a board member works for, as well as investments, real estate, and creditors. The statements include information for immediate family members too. They must be filed online by May 1.

After a discussion with Kings Financial, the school board is expected to approve the issue of $4,643,800 Taxable General Obligation Limited Tax School Bonds.

The board will also be asked to approve First Student Transportation's quote for bus service for the 2023-24 and 2024-205 school years.

Under new business, they will look at technology requests for 2023-24 school year and the disposal of surplus property.

School board agendas and minutes are posted on the Kinnikinnick Community Consolidated School District 131 website.
