Prairie Hill Road resurfacing begins next Monday, should finish by end of October

"Beginning Monday October 3, 2022, roadway patching and resurfacing construction work will begin on Prairie Hill Road between IL Rte. 2 and IL Rte. 251," Andy Limberg of the Winnebago County Highway Department announced in a news release today. "The work is expected to be completed by October 31, 2022. However the duration of the work is dependent on the weather. Please use alternate routes and delays should be expected."

The resurfacing on Prairie Hill Road, a boundary between South Beloit and Rockton which crosses Dorr Road, will affect traffic to many businesses, such as South Beloit High School and Bravo's Pizza. County Engineer Carlos Molina told us in March that they planned to accept bids in late spring or early summer 2022, and hoped to have construction completed during the summer. The estimated cost was $900,000.
