Pour In the Park welcomed 200 beer lovers to Riverside Park in Roscoe
Pour In the Park brought Midwestern spirit to Riverside Park in Roscoe.
Plenty of sunshine covered the grounds of Riverside Park in Roscoe on Saturday, May 4, 2024 where for four hours, the Stateline Chamber of Commerce welcomed over 200 beer lovers and fans of a variety of specialty beverages.
Eight beer tents were featured, each with a unique beer to sample from different breweries.
Participating breweries and companies who served included Samuel Adams, Carbliss, Pig Minds Peroni Italy, Angry Orchard, Scorched Earth Brewery, Bell's Inspired Brewing, Dos Equis - Mexican Lager, Dogfish Head, Lagunitas, Brewery, Boulevard Brewing Company, Warsteiner, Grolsch, Strongbow Hard Apple Ciders, Paulaner Munchner, Guinness, Revolution Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, Brasserie d' Achouffee, Firestone Walker Brewing, Lakefront Brewery, Pecatonica, and Leinenkugel.
Beer types spanned from Germany, Mexico, Boston, Illinois and Wisconsin. Those who wanted to try something different were set too: ciders, seltzers and other beverages were offered.
Friendly, competitive corn hole games created a lot of laughs.
Trash 80's played familiar tunes with a sharp, live band sound. They set the scene for a relaxing atmosphere.
Many tasted food from one of the onsite food trucks, which included Fry Babies and Sizz n' Fizz.
Funds raised at Pour In the Park will be used to support the Stateline Chamber's efforts to stimulate growth through regional business development and community stewardship.
Year round, the Stateline Chamber offers a diverse level of community and networking events, educational opportunities, professional resources, and advocacy to their members.
Over the year, the Stateline Chamber hosted ribbon cuttings to celebrate new businesses coming to the area, a golf play day, and Lunch and Learn events. It plays an integral role in the Influential Women in Business Luncheon, hosts a casino night, and for years organized the Stateline Business Expo, with their final expo held last summer.
Last year a purse project event involved a collection of over 150 purses filled with toiletries, gift cards, and other useful items to be given to kids to gift their mothers with on Mother's Day through the DEFY- Domestic Abuse Beloit. John Broda and Lea Evers spearheaded this awesome event.
Partnering with the Stateline Chamber of Commerce was the Village of Roscoe and generous sponsors Danny's Roofing Xteriors, and Louie's Tap House.
Sponsors enjoyed time in the Danny's Roofing Xterior's VIP lounge.
A number of volunteers helped with set up, pouring beer, or cleaning up on the grounds.
This first-time event drew great interest and initiated lively conversations and lots of laughter.
Stateline Chamber of Commerce Vice President Ryan Rydell predicts, "The positive response to this inaugural festival proves it will grow into a flagship event, attracting hundreds of people to showcase our awesome community and helping to drive tourism and economic growth. Everyone was in high spirits. We're taking all the positive feedback and planning the next one - stay tuned."
