Phyllis Knorr loved NASCAR races, jigsaw puzzles, and collecting salt and pepper shakers
Phyllis Knorr (1938-2024)

Phyllis Irene Knorr, 85, passed away peacefully in her home on March 12, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 18, 1938 in Mt. Morris, IL to Leroy and Bernice Garman. She married Richard Paul Knorr on September 5, 1953 in Galena, Illinois. Phyllis was an avid NASCAR race fan and in 2013 she was given a NASCAR ride-along to experience the true excitement. Fashion was important to her. She always had shoes, jewelry, and a purse to match every outfit which she wore every chance she could. She enjoyed attending the many sporting events of her children, and great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members.

Phyllis looked forward to her weekly fish fry dinner date with her beloved son-in-law and enjoyed her secret pal luncheons and parties. Phyllis loved being challenged by a good jigsaw puzzle. She had a passion for collecting salt and pepper shakers. In fact, her collection is so large, that we would be happy to share with family and friends as a memento of Phyllis. She was a proud resident of Rockton, IL and a member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Roscoe, IL. Phyllis will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She always had a basket of candy, pop or juice to welcome her visitors.

She is survived by her daughter, Deby (Gary) Graupner; sons, Rick (Berta) Knorr and Philip Knorr; sister, Darlene McGrew; many grand and great-grandchilden; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard Knorr; brothers, Ronald and Darrell Garman; sister, Elaine Yates; son, Michael Knorr; daughter, Vicki Knorr and her sweet great-grandson, Brock Scarpetta.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe, IL with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
