At its meeting on Monday, May 15, 2023, the City of South Beloit began considering issuing a Class AA bar/restaurant liquor license for Pearl Lake Beach, which is under new ownership.

The City Council also considered entering into a consumer drug take-back program agreement with RX Solutions (Inmar) and approving a State of Illinois Mobile Device Security Policy and Wave Support Limitations and Disclaimer Agreement for the Starcom21 State of Illinois Radio System through Motorola Solutions.

Resolution 6449 was to retroactively approve a professional services agreement with B&F Construction Code Services, Inc., for zoning plan review services.

Under new business, the South Beloit city council talked about taking bids to repair or replace sewer inlets using TIF (tax increment financing) funds. They also looked at an application from Stateline Boys & Girls Club to receive funding from hotel/motel taxes. They were expected to retroactively approve the hiring of Zachary Houghton as a full time employee for the Streets Department at a rate of $17.34 an hour.
