Patsy Wecker (1938-2025)

Patsy Wecker (Reedy), beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Texas on August 14, 2025, after a life marked by kindness, warmth, and quiet strength.

She was married to her late husband, Darrel Wecker, for over 57 years. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.

A 1956 graduate of Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois, Patsy spent the majority of her career at Canfield Clinic in Rockford, IL. In retirement, she and Darrel enjoyed life in both San Diego and Texas.

Patsy was known for her unmistakable, contagious laugh and her gift for making others feel heard and welcomed. She never rushed a conversation and always had time for those around her.

She is survived by her children: Michael Wecker, Teri Wecker, and Lorrie Smith; her brothers: Richard Reedy (and his wife Mary) and William Reedy (and his wife Amy); and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrel, her son Jeffrey Wecker, her younger brother James Reedy, and her sister Peggy, who died in infancy.

In accordance with her wishes, Patsy’s ashes will be joined with Darrel’s and scattered in San Diego, over the Pacific Ocean—a final act of love and reunion.

Patsy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her warmth, and the quiet strength she shared with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
