Oh boy! Fifty tables of cars and toys for sale at Saturday's Northern Illinois Toy Show
Free admission for kids under 15, with a six-lane Hot Wheels drag racing setup.
Visitors to this Saturday's Northern Illinois Toy Show in Roscoe will find 50 tables of toys and diecast cars for sale, ranging from Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, DC, TMNT, action figures, Legos and much more, with 30 vendors from all over the Midwest. The show will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 at Life Church, 5910 Elevator Road from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Brad Stanton, Darri Busker, and Cory Larson organize, promote, and set up the monthly shows. Larson says, "One of my wife's favorite parts about the show is seeing the little kids come in and their eyes just light up! They are so excited about the amount of toys in one room!"
Admission is $3 at the door, but kids aged 15 and under can attend for free. The family-friendly show offers kids a giveaway table "with door prizes just for coming in," says Larson, and a six-lane Hot Wheels drag racing setup, with trophies for each participant. Staff from Life Church will have hot & iced coffee, lunch, snacks, and other beverages available for purchase.
Larson told us it was originally known as the Rockford Hot Wheels Show, and for seven years, it was held at the Rockford SDA Church on South Alpine. When the COVID pandemic caused them to move, Life Church in Roscoe, where Darri is a member, graciously allowed them to use the church's updated facility. With the move, the show also changed its name to Northern Illinois Toy Show. This marks their fourth monthly show under their new name.
Larson says, "We look forward to seeing everyone at our show, from the serious collectors to people who are new to the collecting world. We love sharing our passion for toys and vintage collectables."
