Obituary: Terry M. Kuhn (1952-2021)
Terry was an industrial engineer who completed the Chicago Marathon.
Terry M. Kuhn, 69, of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, after a courageous battle with Stage IV pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Terry’s initial battle with cancer occurred 15 years ago when he fought and beat Burkitt’s Leukemia.
Born in Springfield, Illinois, to Walter and Alice Kuhn. Terry graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, with an Industrial Engineering degree. He married his wife, Julie (Navarra), on September 10, 1977.
Terry held a variety of engineering positions from developing motors for robotic wheelchairs to bringing an assembly line back to Rockford from Denmark. He retired in 2019 from a long career as an engineer.
Terry was an avid runner and completed the Chicago Marathon in 1999. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, archery and was an Eagle scout and a scout leader. He enjoyed motorcycle trips in his youth, working on cars and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Kuhn; aunts, Kate Pelley and Marty Jenot; brothers, Jerry (Elaine) Kuhn and Benny (Dawn) Kuhn; son, Adam (Amber) Kuhn; grandchildren, Haley and Hannah Kuhn.
