NSLD welcomes new director Jon Mark Bolthouse
Jon Mark Bolthouse was recently hired as the new director of the North Suburban Library District, serving Loves Park and Roscoe, Illinois.
On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Jon Mark Bolthouse stepped into the role of director at North Suburban Library District, following the retirement of Mary Petro, who served as director for 13 years.
Jon Mark hails from Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, where he and his family lived for 21 years. He worked for the Fond Du Lac Library System for 13 years. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with two libraries in the Prairie Cat system and to live in a new community," he said.
Jon Mark and his wife, Monica, are parents of one son. The family is originally from Michigan, but has lived all over the world, including Japan. Jon Mark is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Library Science. He also attended Loyola in Chicago, where he received a master's degree in Information Science Technology. He also attended the University of Puget Sound in Washington.
