North IL-251 frontage road to be redone beginning next week
The Village of Roscoe expects the road work to be finished by mid-November.
The Village of Roscoe is redoing the frontage road of IL-25I north from McCurry Road to where it ends south of Rockton Road.
Work is scheduled to begin late next week (October 13 or 14). The project is funded by Roscoe's Illinois Motor Fuel Taxes (MFT). The Village expects it to be completed in approximately 3-4 weeks.
The contractor will be doing pavement reclamation (grinding), new hot-mix asphalt, aggregate shoulder work, pavement markings, and related activities.

In a letter to residents dated October 7, 2022, Village Engineer Brandon Boggs says, "Periodic delays should be expected throughout the construction process and at times, traffic will be reduced to a single lane. During these times, flag crews will be present to ensure safe travel for all motorists. Driveway access may be interrupted during periods of lane closures."
Boggs expects that "access should never be restricted for more than a few hours" at a time.
Drivers should be cautious and adjust their speeds in the construction area.
Boggs calls the project, "a much needed and great improvement to Roscoe's roadways."
Rock Road Companies, Inc. was awarded the contract for the 2022 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Street funded reconstruction of the northern section of IL-251 Frontage Road (North Second Street) for the bid price of $472,949.03.
