No injuries when part of ceiling came down at Hononegah

Safety experts are inspecting the area around the affected classroom.

In an email to parents on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, Principal Chad Dougherty said, A portion of the ceiling in one of our classrooms came down during the school day. Thankfully, no students or staff were injured.

Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately evacuated all students and staff from that section of the building. Classes are continuing in other areas of the school while the affected classroom and surrounding spaces are being inspected by our facilities team and safety experts.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We will not allow students to return to that area until it has been fully inspected and cleared for use.

We understand that news like this can be concerning. Please know that our response was immediate and that all students are safe.
