Lannah and Garrett Metz made Easter memories together at Rockton's Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16 in Settlers Park.

Temperatures sitting at a cold 36 degrees failed  to deter nice crowds from celebrating  traditional Easter fun at Rockton's Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16.  The grounds of Settler's Park were covered with 3,000 colorful eggs, each one full of candy and enough for 300 children to fill their baskets or bags with 10 eggs each. If extras were available, then young ones were allowed to pick up a few more to add to their collection.  Special golden eggs gave hunters a chance to win a unique prize.

This year's event was a team effort between the Village of Rockton and downtown Rockton businesses. Event organizer Tricia Diduch expressed gratitude to all of the businesses who participated in making the event happen.

Diduch introduced Mickey Grin  from “About Face” and another volunteer from her family. These ladies volunteered to help those who found golden eggs to redeem them for prizes.

In a matter of minutes, baskets were filled and the grounds were cleared of all the colorful eggs. Following the hunt, little ones and even young at heart  eagerly awaited a visit from the Easter bunny.

The bunny made an appearance, greeted everyone,  and took photos with little ones, adding a nice touch to the event.
