In the news: roses, no left turn, youth awards, graduation/prom dates
The Rockton Lions Club is preparing for their 68th Rose Day. Order a dozen roses by March 31, get them delivered on April 9. Check the online form for delivery area, but it's pretty broad.
Jean Seegers covered this year’s award ceremony for Roscoe VFW Post 2955 and the Women’s Auxiliary's Voice of Democracy/ Patriots Pen Contest. The essay contest is open to all high school and middle school students in the area. It was held Tuesday, March 1, at the Roscoe VFW Post.
The Village of Roscoe Police have announced, "Due to the traffic congestion at Main Street & Pine Lane during the morning and afternoon hours, a 'No Left Turn' sign is being placed at that intersection in the northbound lane." This affects parents picking up and dropping off children at Kinnikinnick Elementary School.
All youth ages 8-18 are invited to a fun-filled morning at 4-H Project Workshop Day on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Church in Rockton. The cost is $3 per person.

On Thursday, the Winnebago County Health Department reported 41 people were hospitalized with COVID in local hospitals, ten fewer than the week before but three more than on Tuesday. This week Hononegah High School had no confirmed COVID cases. Last week they had three, the week before they had seven.

Hononegah's Class of 2022 graduation ceremony will be held once again at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28th. With a seating capacity of about 6,000, there is no limit on attendance, so there is no need for tickets.
Hononegah's Prom 2022 will be held on Saturday, April 23 at the Tebala Event Center in Rockford, 7910 Newburg Road, from 8:00-11:00 p.m. Dinner will not be included as a part of the event this year, due to the size of the venue. Since this is the school's first event at the Tebala, they don't yet know if there will be a capacity limit. Bus transportation from Hononegah to the event that evening will be provided if needed.
