News Briefs from Rockton & Roscoe for Mar. 1, 2022

Besides a zoning request for a townhome development on Roscoe Road, the Village of Roscoe Board of Trustees will also vote at Tuesday's meeting on several routine resolutions [PDF], including crack sealing, a rotary mower, whether the Village can lower insurance premiums for their police officers, and whether to let Benny’s Slots Wine Spirits have a different kind of liquor license, one that doesn't include "boutique gaming."

At this week's Board of Trustees meeting, the Village of Rockton will vote on the approval/appointment of Thomas Henschel to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a 5-year term. Trustee Jodi May will summarize recent Rockton Police Department activity. The Board will be asked to approve the purchase of a lagoon aerator motor for the sewer plant from McGilvra Electric for $3,760. They will vote on a resolution in support of tax increment financing, in which a business's taxes help to fund nearby development. After executive session, into which our reporters may not venture, the Board is expected to approve a collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council.

Drake announced, "I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to to play football. I want to thank my family, all of my teammates and all of my coaches for the support." Founded in 1846, Carroll University is Wisconsin’s oldest four-year institution of higher learning - Beloit College began offering classes the next year.
