Comedy at Cutthroat Corbin’s
Two of your favorite barbers and three comedians will be at Cutthroat Corbin’s Barbershop at 215 W. Main St Unit B in Rockton, Saturday, Jan. 29. Beginning at 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. nobody at the barbershop will be cutting hair. Or anything else, so far as we know. They will be cutting up and standing up. In addition to their daily work, in which they stand up, barbers Corbin and Anthony have previously done stand-up comedy at Louie's Tap House in Roscoe.
The barber shop gets comic cred for its decor, which includes a hand saw, masked deer heads, and the admonition "What Good Shall I Do This Day?" So yes, besides their brazen trade name, they're very funny. And they cut hair well. Reserve your place on EventBrite for the comedy show and on Booksy for a haircut.
Teen Blackout Poetry Night
Talcott Free Library has organized a Teen Blackout Poetry Night from 4:00-5:00 p.m. (since night comes early these days) on Friday, Jan. 28. For young people in grades 6-12, so preteens are welcome too. The point is to "find a poem" of their own "not by writing words, but by erasing them" from the page with black markers. Pages and markers will be provided.

Village Board meetings
Next Tuesday: both the Village of Roscoe and the Village of Rockton have Board of Trustees meetings. In Rockton, most of the business is conducted beforehand, in committee meetings earlier in the week, so their Tuesday night meeting is typically shorter than in Roscoe's.
