Municipal agendas for South Beloit and Rockton
On the agenda: street projects, new equipment, tax abatement, and a new Rockton treasurer
At their meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, the City of South Beloit is expected to authorize street projects for 2024, funded by Illinois motor fuel taxes (MFT), which are currently $0.45 or $0.53 per gallon. City Council members will hold a private executive session to discuss personnel issues and the possible purchase or lease of property.
At their Wednesday, Jan. 3 meeting. the Village of Rockton plans to appoint a new village treasurer. They are expected to authorize an agreement with the Illinois State Police for fingerprinting services. They will also consider "An Ordinance Abating the Ad Valorem Tax Previously Levied for the Year 2023 to Pay Debt Service on the $1,585,000 General Obligation Alternate Bond (Waterworks System Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2012A." Also on the agenda: approval of the annual $25,000 contribution to Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) and the purchase of a 2024 Toro MDX Utility Cart from Reinders for $16,500.92. This would be a four-year lease with an $4,623.89 estimated payment.
