Mud Volleyball Tournament: getting filthy for a cause

Caked with mud from head to toe, mud volleyball players will be slogging it out at the 40th annual Mud Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Riverside Park in Roscoe.

The fundraising challenge was initiated by the Epilepsy Foundation 39 years ago. It has remained hugely popular year after year. This year, Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB) has taken over as sponsors of the event.

Food truck meals and drinks can be purchased on the grounds, or players and spectators are welcome to tailgate.

Action begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues throughout the day. The winning team will receive the coveted trophy and Golden Ball.

There is no admission fee.
