Mother and son storytelling team release third book in children's series- Elfie the Owl and the Little Star’s Big Journey - A Tiny Hero’s Tale
Elfie the Owl and the Little Star's Big Journey is a book for young ones and young at heart.

The mother and son storytelling team of Bryn and Lynn Sheedy Gibson are back after completing their third children’s illustrated book that was released this summer.

“Elfie the Owl and the Little Star’s Big Journey” envisions the tale of a tiny but mighty Elf Owl and her adventure to help a tiny star find her way home.

The book took 10 months to complete from writing to publishing.

Inside the pages readers will find charming artwork and memorable characters to convey a world where even the tiniest of heroes can make a difference.

The story centers around a tiny Elf Owl named Elfie as she and her best friends help a tiny twinkling star find her way back home. She learns that, despite her tiny size, she is able to achieve mighty things.

Elfie the Owl and her best friends, all no bigger than a juice box, once braided together three mighty forces—the Northern Lights, the Solar Wind, and the Spirit of Christmas. Those adventures have now brought them an unexpected new friend, Nova—a tiny twinkling star who mysteriously tumbles from the sky.

Will Elfie be able to help Nova find her way home before she loses her shine? In this magical tale of friendship and courage.

“Elfie the Owl and the Little Star’s Big Journey” is available for purchase at Amazon or at Strand Books.

The first book in the series is ”How Elfie the Elf Owl Saved Christmas- A Tiny Heroes Tale.”

Their second book, envisions the tale of a tiny but mighty Elf Owl and her adventure to solve the mystery of the Northern Lights, in Elfie the Owl and the Mystery of the Northern Lights, A Tiny Hero s Tale.

The first two books were released several months apart in 2025.

Author Biographies and visions:

Lynn Gibson spent 14 years at Hononegah Community High School, six years as superintendent.

Bryn Sheedy Gibson grew up in Rockford, Illinois, surrounded by children’s books and big imaginations. As a child, he often felt tiny (but mighty!)—a feeling that now inspires the heart of his storytelling.

Through his writing, Bryn hopes to share that same empowering message with young readers everywhere. With a background in school finance, Bryn is passionate about helping children receive strong educational opportunities.

He is excited to continue writing the Tiny Hero Series alongside his mother, Lynn, creating stories that encourage children to look inward, discover their strengths, and believes that even the smallest heroes can make a big difference.

"Together, we weave stories that not only connect generations, but also ignite imaginations. Our shared passion for storytelling allows us to create worlds where every word carries the warmth of home and the spark of adventure," Bryn Sheedy Gibson said. “

We are excited to be publishing this third book in the series in 2026. There are many more brave and daring adventures to come.”

Lynn Sheedy Gibson has spent a lifetime surrounded by stories, reading countless children’s books to her children and grandchildren. That love of storytelling led her to co-author her first two books with Bryn, one of her six grown children, and now the adventure continues with the third book in the Elfie series.

An educator at heart, Lynn’s career has taken her from ditching kindergarten to serving as a school district superintendent and university professor. A native of Rockford, Illinois, she finds inspiration for her writing in the outdoors and on hiking trails, where every path reminds her that life itself is an adventure worth sharing.

"Our stories are built on the bond we share, each page a reflection of our love for adventure, laughter, learning and imagination.

Writing together as mother and son, we hope to inspire young hearts to dream big and embrace the magic of storytelling,” said Lynn Sheedy Gibson of their writing team. “

This book is dedicated to my six children to thank them for teaching me that there truly is magic in the world.”

Reflections and future writing plans:

Each book in this series holds a special meaning and teaches valuable lessons to be remembered. All of the books come with an activity to be done.

The third book in the series includes a maze that children can use to help Nova, the tiny star, find her way home and a section on falling stars for young readers to understand what they see twinkling in the sky.

The Gibson's reflected:" This book is the culmination of so many thigs, us as a mother and son writing team authoring together, the excitement of our first publishing contracts, the fun we have watching little readers enjoy our books, and our creative differences that lead to so much more than we ever expected.

We have wondered who we would be as human beings without taking this journey together!”

"This is our final book for now, in the Elfie- Tiny Hero series. However we left it as a cliffhanger as Elfie and her friends will likely want another book," Lynn Sheedy Gibson said.

All are invited to follow the Gibsons on FacebookInstagram, and YouTube. "

The Gibson’s are looking to the future. "We are starting a new children's book series that will be a new fairy tale. We are in the editing phase right now and will begin the illustration phase in August.

Our goal is to launch the newest work prior to Christmas 2026. We cannot wait! Our hope is that our little readers know that they are the Tiny Heroes in the world and that we love and need them!"
